Are you looking to develop further in your Dietetic career as a clinical specialist? Do you have extensive experience of working within the acute setting?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitian to provide specialist acute dietetic services to the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board population, based at Prince Charles Hospital.
You will hold a complex clinical caseload of acute inpatients and be a key member of the wider multidisciplinary teams, ensuring optimised patient outcomes, service innovation and strategic development.
You will have knowledge and skills in complex nutrition support across general inpatient settings including stroke, surgery and gastroenterology.
As a senior member of the dietetic team, you will contribute to the day to day leadership of junior dietitians and support workers, encouraging and promoting their development and also to deputise for the Acute Team Lead Dietitian, Deputy Head of Service and Professional Managers. You will also be a lead student trainer, responsible for the coordination and development of training programmes as well as providing direct training to students.
The post holder is a clinical lead in acute nutrition support based in Prince Charles Hospital. This post will focus on delivering a quality, evidence based specialist nutrition support dietetic service to patients within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Area.
To work autonomously managing a specialist complex and varied caseload of patients with complex nutrition support needs in addition to different clinical conditions, including stroke, complex surgery and gastroenterology identifying, planning and delivering highly specialist dietetic interventions demonstrating expertise in this area of clinical speciality.
To demonstrate clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based outcomes.
Lead on specific clinical audit/research projects within area of speciality.
To provide leadership for junior staff and support staff and contribute to their development, as a delegated supervisor, and undertake annual performance review of junior staff.
To work in collaboration with ward multidisciplinary teams, identifying service improvements and taking forward developments in line with dietetic annual plan, and strategic developments of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Act as a source of expertise to other colleagues working within and outside Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
