Description:

An opportunity has arisen for experienced CAMHS Liaison and Crisis Support Occupational Therapist (Band 7) with generic CAMHS experience to work within our pathway.
This is a full-time permanent post and is part of a well-established team where professional development and innovative work is actively encouraged. The post holder will work Monday to Friday 9-5 to provide specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment and intervention to children and young people of the LIST Home Treatment pathway across Milton Keynes, using evidenced based practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for young people experiencing mental health crisis. The post will be based within MKUH and the post holder will be expected to maintain the close links with the Hospital and other stakeholders.

The post will include professional and practice development and ensuring high quality client centred care is delivered. The post holder will lead by example to maintain high standards of care and practice and to empower colleagues to take on a greater range of clinical tasks to improve client care in the specialist CAMHS service. The post holder will be a highly visible presence in clinical practice and be accessible to clients and their families. They will provide advice and expertise in the management of complex cases.

As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, to manage a service user case load as defined by the LIST service.
To take the lead in planning and initiating HTT OT provision in collaboration with other professionals, specifically to meet the child and/or young person’s needs.
Where locally agreed, to take responsibility as the key person within the home treatment pathway, for a defined case load of children and/or young person belonging to the LIST and those whose needs can be best met by the specialist skills of an HTT Occupational Therapist.
To take a lead on the development of the OT service within the LIST HTT, developing appropriate OT pathways, processes, and protocols.
To assess the child and/or young person’s mental state and identify any significant risk factors pertaining to community re-integration and undertake risk assessments with other health professionals.
