Highly Specialist Paediatric Neuro Physiotherapist

at  Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

To prescribe and review orthoses based on expert clinical knowledge & experience, supported by the current evidence base. To work closely with the Trust Orthotics Service in this specialist area. To demonstrate highly developed dexterity, co-ordination & palpatory sensory skills for assessment & manual treatment. To co-ordinate intervention that may include other disciplines; advise & educate parents/carer/other health professionals & through close liaison promote good working relationships at all times.
To give & receive complex, sensitive & other unwelcome information to children, parents/carers & other professional regarding the childs diagnosis & prognosis with sympathy, tact & empathy. To be highly skilled in communicating with families & children of all ages who have a range of physical & associated barriers to understanding, such as learning difficulties, hearing & visual impairment & language difficulties
