Description:

We are looking to recruit two highly motivated, curious HCPC-registered Psychologists with an interest in working in clinical health psychology at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the dynamic and newly reinvented Clinical Health Psychology service, across the specialisms of obesity, pain management, limb reconstruction, general medicine and HIV. Specialist supervision will be provided. The post holder will be part of a wider team of psychologists in the Borough, who meet regularly, provide peer support, and develop and review psychological interventions. You will have access to a range of training and education opportunities, such as Trauma Informed Care and EMDR, as well as the chance to get involved in research.
The post is suitable for an experienced psychologist who is looking for variety and expanding their specialised health psychology knowledge. It offers an excellent opportunity to work with people with complex mental health difficulties from a range of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds as well as working in partnership with staff teams and community organisations to deliver psychologically informed care.
If you are interested in developing leadership skills then these opportunities will be made available to you. The successful candidate will help with program development, supervise trainee psychologists, as well as the newer innovative NHS-sponsored clinical associates in psychology.
The successful candidate will be closely involved with the wider Psychology service of ELFT, under whose governance you will experience continuing professional development, including regular specific psychological training plus the opportunity to receive training in more specialised approaches. Within this lively, warm and enthusiastic team, a range of approaches is promoted, including CBT, CFT, CAT, EMDR, narrative therapy and community psychology, supported by strong peer and specialist supervision.
We welcome applications of newly qualified psychologists and can offer preceptorship opportunities.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people’s lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations
