Have you got what it takes to contribute to this exciting B7 SLT opportunity to support Children & Young People (CYP) within Ealing Youth Justice Service (YJS)? Do you want to work for an SLT service that is committed to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Staff Wellbeing?
They are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible & innovative therapist with a specialism in working with young people aged 10 – 18 years of age with a range of communication,social, emotional & mental health needs. The role will support Ealing YJS’s aim to achieve positive outcomes for young people on the cusp of the youth justice system with the aim of preventing them from going on to offend. The role will require the post holder to use their existing experience to work alongside other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including Youth Justice workers, GP, Forensic and Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, Social workers and CAMHS..
In this role you will deliver Highly Specialist Speech & Language assessment for young people known to the Youth Justice Service to inform them, their families/carers & the people around them of any identified communication difficulties. You will then provide appropriate training, therapy, advice & support to the young person & their family/carers, working alongside a range of other professionals.

THIS POST INVOLVES: -

Providing assessment of speech, language and communication skills to young people within the YJS.
Providing appropriate specialist intervention where required and evaluate outcomes within the YJS
Making appropriate onward referrals
Working as part of MDT to facilitate support and therapy programmes
Developing clear packages of care based on best practice
To be able to reflect on aspects of a young person’s communication and identify appropriate strategies to facilitate and enhance communicative effectiveness, monitor the effectiveness of speech and language therapy programmes/strategies/advice being delivered by other relevant professionals/parents and adjust as necessary
