Description:
The Smoking Cessation Advisor is responsible for delivering a hospital smoking cessation service to patients attending Prince Charles, Royal Glamorgan, Princess of Wales, and other health board sites.
As part of this service, the post holder will provide intensive behavioural support and advice to smokers who wish to stop smoking.
The post holder is responsible for working with patients and staff where applicable to develop a treatment plan and this will involve working with other clinical staff to identify patients and ensure they are provided with adequate nicotine replacement therapy.
The post holder is responsible for maintaining and inputting patient records into a database and ensuring patients receive adequate follow-up support once they are discharged.
