We have an exciting full-time opportunity available for Pharmacist in Charge to lead and support a dynamic and collaborative team based onsite at Slade Pharmacy, located within Mayo Private Hospital, Taree NSW. Partner with a harmonious hospital team that has a strong focus on providing medical rehab and mental health services to Taree and surrounding communities.
This is a rare opportunity for newly-registered or early career pharmacists to start or progress their career in clinical pharmacy.

ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking a self-motivated individual keen to join a vibrant team environment. With an eagerness to learn and the ability to work autonomously, you will use your previous experience in an Australian based pharmacy to contribute to patient care.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • High attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a community or hospital pharmacy
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Hospital experience not mandatory, but desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and dispensing activities
  • Assist the team with clinical pharmacy services i.e. medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
  • Manage workload allocations
  • Educate and advise staff and patients on disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
  • Involvement in quality activities within the department
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
