The Role
We are currently seeking a talented, experienced, and dedicated Hotel Accountant who will be based at Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport Hotel.
This is an exciting opportunity as the role entails shared responsibilities for Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport Hotel as well as Corporate Head Office.
Reporting to the Hotel’s Finance Manager your hotel’s responsibilities will include:
Assist in managing daily accounting and reporting functions
Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures and budgeted expenses against final totals
Assist payroll processing and year end processing
Assist the Finance Manager to ensure the Finance/Cost Control and Purchasing Departments operate effectively and efficiently
Process month end, year end journals and assist with reporting
Reporting to the Finance Manager in Singapore Head Office your Corporate Head Office’s responsibilities will include:
Assist Corporate Head Office with Payroll processing and year end processing
Timely submission of monthly financial reports to the management
Consolidation of hotels information including Hotel Month End Reports, group cost and on-charging to hotels
Reconciliation of intercompany accounts, group vendors statement of accounts, bank reconciliation
Ensure accurate and timely compliance of month end procedures and year end procedures
Requirements
The ideal candidate will likely possess extensive working knowledge of accounting procedures, with experience in Finance in a hospitality environment, and who is eager to develop a career within the Finance department.
You will hold a tertiary qualification and be a qualified accountant.
The role will require good written and spoken English, a pleasant attitude that supports our teamwork environment in addition to:
Proficiency with Opera and previous experience with Sun Systems accounting systems would be preferable.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, possessing a high attention to detail
Experience with intermediate Excel skills and Word
Good understanding of hotel operations
Degree qualified is essential with some experience in the same or similar role
