Description:
To carry out a broad range of general housekeeping/reception duties associated with the functions of the Pathology Department ensuring that a high-quality service is maintained.
Keep all laboratory communal areas clean and tidy.
Cover for the Pathology Receptionist during lunch breaks, holidays and sickness absence. (Duties include: greeting visitors to Pathology, taking calls, dealing with incoming/outgoing post, allocation of staff lockers, maintaining a car registration database, booking of meeting rooms).

Keep all laboratory communal areas clean and tidy.
Prepare meeting rooms for external/internal visits.
Assist the Corporate Secretary when required with external visits.
Maintain and sort the laboratory coat cupboard, disposing of old coats and informing the Corporate Secretary when new stock is required.
Empty confidential waste bins and obtain replacement sacks from the post room.
Load, unload and drain the dishwasher, keep kitchen area clean & tidy.
Re-stock photocopiers/printers with paper, replenishing paper supplies daily.
Maintain and replenish stock levels of refreshments, disposable cups & hand gel stations.
Deliver posts to internal depts/staff
Check stock in stationary cupboard and replace as necessary.
Replenish and run the Pathology tuck shop with stock obtained by the Chair of the staff forum.
Assist laboratory staff with unpacking of stock and disposal of packaging appropriately.
Cover for the Pathology Receptionist during lunch breaks, holidays and sickness absence. (Duties include: greeting visitors to Pathology, taking calls, dealing with incoming/outgoing post, laminating, allocation of staff lockers, maintaining a car registration database, booking of meeting rooms).
Any other general ad hoc housekeeping/administration duties as required
