Description:

Reporting to: As per contract

Department Objective

  • To ensure the highest possible standard and presentation of Villas, Cabins and Bungalows at all times.
  • To ensure the highest possible standard of room cleanliness inside and outside at all times within the most efficient time.
  • To ensure all laundry and linen requirements are of the highest possible standard at all times.

Primary Objective of Position

  • Service all cabins/rooms as required on a daily basis
  • Advise reception of all Villas, Cabins and Bungalows on completion of services.
  • Complete washing, drying and folding of all dirty linen, cloths and rags.
  • Ensure laundry is kept clean at all times.
  • Ensure chemical and storage room is clean at all times.
  • Ensure linen storage is neat and tidy at all times.
  • Ensure reception has packed bags of linen for hire.
  • Ensure amenities, public areas and laundry is kept clean

  • Represent NRMA in an enthusiastic and positive manner
  • Display commitment to NRMA values and procedures
  • Undertake responsibility for the safety and well-being of yourself, other staff, visitors, suppliers and contractors
  • Maintain an exceptional level of professionalism and integrity at all times
  • Ensure positive relationships are developed and maintained with colleagues, visitors, suppliers and contractors
  • Provide information and support to senior management as required
  • Make every effort to support the NRMA team and display respect and care for others
  • Follow any reasonable directions or duties given
  • Work diligently, using resources and time appropriately
  • Produce quality work, meeting deadlines and targets
  • Assist in training and supervision of hosts of a lower level

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain housekeeping procedures to the highest standard
  • Service and clean all rooms/cabins to standard
  • Inform suggested changes in procedures, materials, furnishings and equipment to benefit guest and company
  • Ensure that procedures for lost property are followed and lost property is properly recorded and stored accordingly
  • Assist in maintaining a close working relationship between Housekeeping, Maintenance and Front Office Department
  • Establish a harmonious relationship with all other departments in the Hotel
  • Ensure Workplace Health & Safety procedures are maintained and adhered to

Essential Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role – requires knowledge and experience in processes, procedures and methods of a housekeeping department.
  • Outstanding guest relations and communications skills and the ability to relate to and host resort guests from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds
