  • Duration: 3 month assignment
    WorkwithYork are working with our local authority client to find Housing Income Management Officers to work in their busy and fast paced housing department in York.
    This is a full time, temporary 3-month assignment, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday on a hybrid basis. However, you’ll also be expected to work regularly in the central York office, with access to your team and colleagues.
    £13.59 per hour with weekly pay, holiday pay and pension with online timesheets.

This role involves:

  • Reviewing housing account systems weekly, to ensure arrears are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Contacting tenants by phone, text, email and home visits and letter, as necessary, to advise of missed payments.
  • Taking payments by phone to bring accounts back in line with their payment dates quickly.
  • Monitoring and serve notices, as required, for arrears and then pass cases on for monitoring by Housing Management Officers.
  • Making referrals to other services such as Citizens Advice Bureau and Step Change, as required, if other debts are identified above and beyond housing rental debt for independent advice.
  • To follow basic pre court protocol in recovery actions, ensuring all documentation is kept up to date, arrangements are placed on systems and monitored thereafter.

You will:

  • Have strong administration and customer service skills
  • Be organised and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ideally have some knowledge of housing and benefits
  • Have the ability to converse and provide advice and guidance in a confident manner
  • Possess a current valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check
