Description:
PERMANENT – FULL TIME
The Housing Management Service are looking for a Housing Officer to join our friendly and supportive Housing Management Team.
As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for a patch of around 1000 properties situated within the London Borough of Redbridge.
You will be responsible for all areas of Tenancy Management including: successions, assignments, mutual exchanges and legal issues, including preparing statements and presenting these at court. You will have to liaise with contractors and arrange appointments to meet non compliance matters.
You will also be responsible for dealing with all aspects of anti-social behaviour which will include proactive case management, updating victims and keeping detailed records. Dealing with vulnerability issues with empathy. You will also have a working knowledge of dealing with various tenancy breaches including: illegal occupants, sub-letting, boundary disputes and damage to property.
Ideally the successful candidate will already be working within the housing sector but consideration may still be given to exceptional candidates who demonstrate their suitability to the post.
The successful candidate will need to be a resilient self-starter who thinks well on their feet in a variety of different, often challenging, situations.
We are looking for people who relish a challenge and are able to deal with confrontation. An attention to detail is essential. You will also need to be creative and demonstrably able to develop solutions to assist residents on our estates.
The role involves some out of hours meeting and will also involve lone working. Daily use of own vehicle for work purposes and a full valid driving license is essential.
