POSITION:

We are looking for an experienced and CIPD qualified Human Resources Advisor to join our expanding team. The Advisor conducts a key role in the leadership of Chisholm Hunter, providing advice and guidance to our operational functions with the aim to make Chisholm Hunter the best place to work in the industry, ensuring our people procedures are delivered consistently to be ‘A Cut Above’.
This role will shape the HR function and provide the best customer service to our internal stakeholders across the company, creating solutions which will inspire and improve the working lives of all managers and staff. Line managing the HR Administrator whilst working to non negotiable deadlines is crucial in this role and the role will require flexibility to travel to the business sites across the estate when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment process, ensuring we utilise the cost effective channels, and attract the best candidates and talent in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Deliver effective recruitment and selection campaigns, taking ownership of the recruitment process from job design to offer stage, including shortlisting candidates and arranging interviews.
  • Improve the recruitment strategy through utilising and developing our social media attraction campaigns
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Managers in our Stores and in the Support Centre to provide pragmatic advice and guidance on all HR procedures.
  • Overall responsibility of the staff monthly 121 procedure, including conducting audit of the 121 coaching logs to check completion rates and review the quality, and making suitable recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership (including 121 reporting)
  • Drive the performance management process, including the annual appraisal procedure and reviewing performance of all staff to support the delivery of the organisation’s key objectives.
  • Responsible for overseeing all HR transactional processes (e.g. probation, changes to terms and conditions, flexible work requests, leavers etc) are ensuring they are authorised and processed accurately.
  • Along with line managers, ensure the smooth on boarding of colleagues from recruitment through induction and integration to role.
  • Responsible for overseeing Ideal Staff Rota to identify skill gaps, identify areas for succession planning, as well as overall manpower planning
  • Ensure all HR Reports, issued to Board and Managers, are issued on time and relevant actions are followed up.
  • Help lead change through analysis & reporting on HR metrics (e.g. performance, absence, vacancies, attrition) and making proposals to the Board to improve procedures to achieve Company objectives.
  • Provide support to Managers in at risk cases (e.g. absence, disciplinary and grievance), ensuring they are conducted in line with Company policies and legal requirements are adhered to.
