About the role
The focus of this short term role will be to complete temporary and casual conversions, respond to requests for HR advice via policy, agreement and award interpretations, manage a busy team inbox, connect with clients and work with the HR Business Partner to complete complex case management activities. This short-term temporary vacancy would suit an existing Queensland Government / Queensland Health HR Advisor or HR Coordinator who has experience in applying our industrial framework in the context of a HR practitioner role and processing of temporary and casual conversions, or an ability to quickly acquire the knowledge and skills to deliver on these key activities, noting this is a 3 month temporary contract.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in applying HR frameworks (including HR and industrial legislation, acts, awards, policies and practices) and the ability to apply this knowledge in the case management of complex employment matters and investigations.
- Demonstrated experience and well-developed understanding of a business partnership approach including coaching, advising and facilitating in order to resolve complex employment matters fairly and balanced with organisational needs.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to sensitively, confidentially and fairly manage people issues.
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving and time management skills with demonstrated experience in exercising sound judgement, proposed courses of action and decision-making.
- Well-developed skills in the use of computer systems including Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook).
