Description:

We’re on the lookout for a forward-thinking senior Human Resource (HR) professional to step into the role of HR Business Partner .
The successful candidate will report to the People Director for Canada collaborating closely with the Managing Directors and Senior Leadership Teams for areas they are supporting. Additionally, they will be an integral part of the People Leadership Team in Canada and the broader global People community.
The successful individual will serve as a trusted advisor, offering strategic counsel and guidance to the senior leadership team on matters of people and culture. You will be a key player in developing and executing our strategic people plan, supporting our ambitious plans for significant growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Take the lead on Culture, Talent, Leadership, Learning, Organization Design and Development, with ultimate responsibility for building the future workforce in their aligned areas.
  • Partner with assigned client executive and senior team to diagnose and address people issues and/or risks, identifying and engaging appropriate HR and business resources in solution or mitigation.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will be a focal point, ensuring a commitment to inclusive talent management, robust diverse succession plans, and the continual creation of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization where colleagues can thrive.
  • Shape the people strategy to align with business priorities and Aviva’s overall strategy.
  • Engaging and collaborating effectively with colleagues in centers of expertise and shared service areas to deliver on business goals and objectives.
  • As a member of the market HR leadership team, participate in developing and implementing Canadian strategies to deliver on the corporate strategy.
  • Although this role does not entail direct line management responsibility, leadership of others is expected to facilitate the execution of the people strategy and plan.

What You’ll Bring:

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of HR experience
  • Exceptional stakeholder management & influencing skills with the ability to positively influence others, having effective coaching and communication skills with the experience of tailoring these skills to manage across all organisational levels.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable to ever changing demands, comfortable with ambiguity and who possess strong planning and organizational skills to ensure effective alignment with business priorities.
  • Experience working successfully in a large, matrixed and complex environment, we are flexible on industry background.
  • A passion for the role, resilience, collaboration, and proactivity, coupled with a drive to bring about positive change, are essential qualities.
  • Experience in strategic partnering with a commercial mindset to foster performance and deliver exceptional service to stakeholders.
