Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Business Partner will be a highly collaborative partner working across HR functions to provide solutions that align with business needs. The HRBP will provide guidance and support to plant leadership and employees on strategic initiatives impacting their department and people. Identify HR issues that will help achieve business objectives and continues to help ensure we are sustaining a positive work culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recruiting and retention strategies to effectively staff their areas of oversight
  • Remain closely connected with the plant employees and leadership to identify and assess current workplace culture; provide solutions and leadership to ensure consistent positive work culture
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations including detailed documentation
  • Collaborate with operations and be highly involved in hiring and separation decisions
  • Partner with operations to identify talent development opportunities with associates
  • Lead culture of accountability in performance management ensuring performance reviews are completed timely and safety is core priority
  • Manage functional staffing strategy and metrics with regular analysis and reporting to business unit
  • Consult with operations management and meet weekly with business unit on strategies related to people, culture and safety
  • Work closely with operations management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Collaborate with HR peers on design of HR programs and initiatives; implement for their plants specific location
  • Act as mentor/resource for operations and employees
  • Facilitate training with new hires, employees and supervisors as necessary
  • This role will have the responsibility to oversea two manufacturing plants one in Ft. Wayne and one in Elkhart.
  • Local traveling will be required on a weekly basis to ensure HR presence in bothmanufacturing facilities happen.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant work experience preferred
  • 3+ years of HR experience is required (business partner/ generalist strongly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of employment law is required in areas including but not limited to, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Workers’ Comp, etc.
  • Ability to think strategically and conduct root cause analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills are critical
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop supervisors and employees
  • Must be able to perform successfully in a high change environment and be able to transition between tasks quickly and effectively
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working within manufacturing is a plus but not required
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), internet recruiting, and applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to develop and facilitate training
  • Working knowledge with payroll is helpful
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) is a plus
