Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of appropriate experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Special Conditions
The department is especially interested in candidates with a working knowledge of primary HR disciplines – compensation, employee relations, staffing, benefits, compliance/regulatory and organizational/employee professional development, as well as change management knowledge and experience and project management experience. SHRM certification preferred.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with the department(s) recruiting efforts for staff and faculty roles including regular and temporary/adjunct employees. Creates job postings in WorkforUM and places advertisements with external entities, as needed. Determines candidate eligibility and performs pre-employment functions.
Manages the onboarding process to ensure the success of our new hires and transition into the university community. This includes creating offer letters, contracts, scheduling orientation sessions, ensuring the completion of both the pre/post hire checklists and managing the receipt of any new hire documentation such as transcripts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides assistance with benefits enrollment & retirement, claims resolution, and the dissemination of information of new benefits and/or changes to existing plans and coverage. Provides information on the Workers’ Compensation process. Assists the SHRBP in the overall coordination of the leave process by communicating with management and employees and monitoring the employee’s return to work.

Reviews, troubleshoots, and ascertains that appropriate documents for all employee actions are accurately completed by the department and submitted to the HR Employee Data Management area for processing.

Prepares monthly reports to include auditing of position descriptions, compliance, and departmental HR metrics using current HR tools. Includes compliance with accreditation standards for faculty hires.
