EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 8-10 years of experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation and unionized experience is required
  • The successful candidate will have advanced analytical skills and expert ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional influencing skills and high level of emotional intelligence. Ability to achieve high results through people.
  • Experience working in a matrixed corporate environment with the ability to work effectively cross-organizationally and cross-culturally.
  • Strong demonstrated people management skills, verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels across the organisation.
  • Ability to identify and improve existing processes.
  • Ability to anticipate and react to frequently changing business climate, delivering results to continual deadline constraints.
  • Ability to prepare presentation decks to an extremely high standard often encompassing highly confidential topics.
  • Previous experience working with HRIS such as Workday an advantage

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE

This position reports directly to the Site Operations Leader and Head of HR Ireland, with responsibility for supporting day-to-day HR activities at our two Galway Injectables sites. The sites manufacture injectables in vials and syringes across a range of therapeutics. The sites are expanding with a current headcount totally 300 employees. The sites export pharmaceutical products to US and EU.
The HR Director, Galway is a key member of the site leadership team and is responsible for leading daily HR operations while supporting delivery of key HR process, collaborating with the site leaders, managers and employees. The role will partner with the site to attract, engage, and develop key talent. This role is based in Inverin Galway, Ireland.
It is an excellent opportunity to work in a challenging leadership role directly aligned with the business. The successful candidate will be a qualified, experienced HR professional with a proven track record of success in a similar role.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the business leaders to provide proactive mechanisms to attract, develop and retain our key talent.
  • Drive the employee experience process ensuring active and timely engagement processes. Spending time engaging with employees and leaders is a key part of this position. Proactive advice and guidance to people leaders is also key for this role.
  • Ensure organisation design requirements are fit for purpose and adapt as required to suit business need.
  • Partner with the Centre of Excellence teams (Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Management and Service Centres to ensure all stage of the employee lifecycle are fit for purpose and serving the business well.
  • As a key member of the Senior Leadership team (SLT) work to ensure proactive talent and succession planning cycle within the sites.
  • Monitor key people measures and recognise any concerns. Support employees and managers with employee relations issues.
  • Work with the Leadership team and Compensation and Benefits team to ensure compensation and benefits structures are reviewed and adaptable to suit business needs
  • Responsible for identifying appropriate project resources, developing work plans, managing deadlines, coordinating project teams and collaborating with the functional team members in the delivery of projects.
  • Ensure solid communication forums are in place to support the site, developing and amending to suit business needs. Keep abreast of employee engagement is a key requirement of this role.
  • Manages creation of monthly scorecards and reporting under established key metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
