Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion, and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Human Resource Generalist. A successful applicant will be responsible to support the HR team through dedicated HR focus on recruitment, HR systems and reporting. The incumbent in this role will have key responsibilities in recruitment and selection, policy development and implementation, performance management, employee relations, compensation administration, training and development, and special projects as required. This is a full-time, permanent position.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate or diploma in HR Management completed or in progress, or other related fields
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Word and Excel (Advanced)
  • Demonstrated expertise in proficiency, developing and managing relationships
  • Knowledge of trends in the industry including all aspects of legislation
  • Above average communication skills; written and verbal
  • Quick learner, creative, self-motivated and detail-oriented. Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities

Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition and Retention

  • Responsible to maintain and update job profiles, interview guides, create postings for approval that are consistent with our corporate brand and brand messaging
  • Prescreen candidates and ensure recruitment process is updated in HRIS
  • Participate in interviews with hiring leaders for designated roles
  • Schedule interviews
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding process, including orientation and first day readiness

HRIS Stakeholder

  • Audit folders of the HRIS for completeness and for accuracy of documentation within the folders
  • Ensure Payroll and HRIS systems are communicating consistent information
  • Prepare reporting, research and analysis on Job evaluation/Pay equity legislation and reporting requirements and submissions
  • Maintain accurate employee file by supporting administration of employee requests and leaves including protected leaves, and WCB claims
  • Manage Sharepoint and related sites

HR Process and Systems

  • Develop templates and reporting on HR metrics; provide data driven HR reporting
  • Support Job Evaluation administration
  • Work with the team to initiate team building activities and provide administrative support with events
  • Conduct reporting and analysis on the results of Employee Experience and Employee Wellbeing surveys
  • Oversee compliance training; participate in training rollout and execution
  • Update policies and policy wording as requested
  • Develop presentations for training, and ensure proper tracking of all required training
