Description:
The Human Resources Generalist will assist in developing, implementing, and administering all Human Resources policies and procedures. The Generalist will have knowledge in human resources and assist with recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, rewards and recognition, and employee communication.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Excellent verbal presentation and facilitation skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to understand and handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multitasked environment.
- Must have the ability to act and perform exemplary work independently.
- Must have the ability to conduct employee investigations when needed.
- Ability to utilize Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Xcel, with willingness to learn new software, as necessary.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field
- Two years of previous Human Resources work experience.
- Basic understanding of the banking industry desired
- Current knowledge of State and Federal employment law, including experience with practical application and interpretation of employment law

Responsibilities:
- Provide professional human resource support in a variety of areas to include, employment, payroll, safety, employee relations, benefits, leaves of absence, and training.
- Maintain HR documentation and records, including employee personnel files, processing onboarding and off-boarding paperwork, recording changes in job classifications, salary increase, etc.
- Maintain and administer health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability, life insurance, 401(K), employee assistance.
- Assist with annual enrollment, process short-term disability claims, administer leave of absence program (FMLA claims, etc.), workers compensation claims, and unemployment claims.
- Consult with the management team to utilize a variety of recruiting channels to creatively source top talent in support of the Bank’s growth.
- Identify and handle employee relations issues quickly and decisively while exercising fair and strong judgment.
- Keep abreast of existing and new employee relations laws and policies to assure clarity of interpretation and compliance with all laws and regulations governing employment.
- Attends webinars and seminars as needed to stay current with job-related duties.
