Description:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department by providing administrative support to the human resource function as needed including record keeping and payroll support. This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with a variety of HR activities and administrative duties. The role interfaces with all levels of internal and external stakeholders and approaches deliverables with a customer focus and team approach. The HR Generalist manages maintaining all employee data (contact information, earning rates, absences, promotions, etc.) often using paper and HRIS (Human Resource Information System) software.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least three years of human resource management experience required.
- SHRM-CP a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Responsibilities:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage employee information in the HR database as it relates to personal data, position and salary changes, benefit enrollment and employment status.
- Serve as first contact for questions regarding the full spectrum of employee lifecycle activities including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and payroll.
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Owns the onboarding process from background check completion through first day.
- Assists with orientating new hires on first day.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
