Description:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the activities in the Redpath HR Framework for Canada. Some main activities include Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Onboarding, Employee Relations and Organizational Development.

Reporting directly the Global Director, Human Resources, the position works closely with hiring managers, job candidates, and employees. The incumbent will work closely with the Shared Services and Business Application Teams to ensure that we have the right people in place to continue developing Redpath’s talent requirements.

  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle, assisting Hiring Managers source, hire and retain quality candidates based on workforce requirements.
  • Maintain a pool of qualified candidates and track past employees performance.
  • Coordinate inter-company transfers.
  • Manage job description database and facilitate an annual review of all job descriptions.
  • Maintain data base in Oracle; resumes, job categories, work history, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees and management
  • Participate in the review and revision of the Redpath Policies and Procedures Manual as necessary.
  • Assist with terminations, site visits and other related HR projects as time permits.
  • Coach and support managers and supervisors to effectively navigate the performance management process.
  • Provide education, advice, coaching and consulting to managers, ensuring adequate application of HR practices, legislation and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to employee and candidate related information.

  • Generate reports, compile data, and conduct research as required.

The ideal candidate is an experienced human resources professional. Candidates should exhibit strong leadership potential and organizational skills and take pride in excelling as a team player. With the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources, talent management and organizational development/design experience
  • Experience with compensation management will be an advantage
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • CHRP Designation, or pursuit of designation considered an asset
  • Ability to represent the human resource function positively to the business and within the mining industry
  • Ability to seek out solutions that focus on solid HR operational recommendations to the business
  • Confidence in dealing with all levels of the organization including our senior executive leadership
  • Confidence in directing managers on all aspects of talent acquisition with a solution focused ability and aptitude for connecting the day-to-day to the larger picture for HR and business operations
