Description:
Our Client in Guelph is searching for a qualified and resourceful Human Resources Generalist to support in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. As an HR Generalist, you will play a critical role in various HR functions, including administration, compliance, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, labour relations, and employee relations.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Prior knowledge or experience processing payroll (Sage 50)
- Proficient understanding of employment legislation
- Understanding or knowledge of unions would be considered an asset
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College diploma or university degree in Human Resources or a related program
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience
- Payroll experience is required in an hourly work environment
- CHRP/CHRL is considered an asset

Responsibilities:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, and issuing employment contracts
- Perform orientations and update records of new staff
- Assist with budget monitoring and payroll processing
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law
