Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an HR Generalist, to join the Smiths Group team in London. The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing effective human resources guidance and support the business in resourcing, performance management, employee relations, onboarding, policy/procedure interpretation, organisational design and recognition. You will also liaise with and provide support to colleagues within the Group People Operations function as well as interacting with peers from other global sites.
What you’ll be doing
• Provide on-the-ground support for employment issues at every stage of the employee lifecycle and implementation of HR policies and practices as well as manage and consult on employee relations matters. • Deliver training and development programs; provide compensation/resourcing/talent assessment coaching services to managers. • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in efficiency of department and services performed, considering existing corporate policies and current legislation. • Ownership of projects on an ad-hoc basis such as annual performance reviews and engagement surveys. • Liaise with People Operations colleagues to ensure activities are completed and data integrity is maintained within the HR master data system. • Accountable for HR data audit compliance reporting and actions • Induction of new employees & contractors • Supporting HRBP’s on local talent activities, talent process and some global employee life cycle activities. • Work with HRBP’s with local reward, compensation and benefits queries in conjunction with relevant reward partner.
What we will need from you
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or recognised qualification/certification in Human Resources desirable. • CIPD qualified L5 or above. • Previous broad HR experience in a FTSE corporate environment would be beneficial. • Previous experience of working within a matrix environment is an advantage. • Working knowledge of UK employment legislation. • Proactive approach and proven experience in continuous improvement and process ownership. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Ability to manage changing priorities. • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. • Ability to plan own work within agreed deadlines, meeting objectives in specified time frame • Supports line managers in making appropriate employee related decisions • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
