Description:

Sonas Nursing Homes is a dynamic and fast-growing group of nursing homes dedicated to cultivating a positive and inclusive workplace environment. In our ongoing efforts to expand our team, we are in search of a committed and experienced HR Generalist to become a valuable part of our vibrant organisation. The chosen candidate will play a key role in supporting the HR Director and HR Business Partner in providing HR and Recruitment assistance. The HR Generalist will contribute to the smooth functioning of the HR Department by collaborating with Nursing Home managers and staff on various human resources-related initiatives.

This full-time permanent role is located at the Support Office in Athlone, County Westmeath, which involves providing support to all 12 nursing homes located across Ireland. Sonas provides numerous employee benefits such as:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management or related discipline is required.
  • A postgraduate qualification is not a requirement but a range of HR/IR courses at postgraduate certificate, diploma and/or master’s level is a distinct advantage.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive recruitment and HR experience.
  • Proven record of building and sustaining effective and professional working relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ensure compliance with Irish employment law by overseeing all aspects of the HR function.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies in line with legislative requirements.
  • Provide guidance to management and employees on policy application and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of staff data in compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Act as a point of contact for HR queries, prepare employment documentation, and support employment relations processes.
  • Uphold organisational values in interactions and mentor management teams in people capability.
  • Assist in organisational change projects and assist with overseas recruitment processes, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Support the full recruitment process as required, for both local and overseas recruitment.
  • Ensure that recruitment, selection and on-boarding standards and processes are maintained in line with Irish employment law, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), WRC and HIQA regulations.
  • Contribute to succession planning strategies across Nursing Homes and handle general administration tasks as required.
