General Position Summary
Partners with the Human Resources team to deliver value-added consulting services to management and associates. Acts as a change agent while driving operational initiatives and assisting with day-to-day Human Resource functions. Supports and empowers managers and associates across divisions to embrace the strategies of the organization in order to produce business results.

Essential Job Functions

  • Partners with HR team to support business units with daily HR-related requests.
  • Partners with HR team by taking on tasks associated with key projects related to the human capital strategy.
  • Provides on-going assessment of employee relations and performance management processes and procedures. Recommends and implements changes.
  • Administers and monitors company practices involving ADA, workers compensation, FMLA, STD and other miscellaneous leave requests. Serves as the primary point of contact for these practices while tracking and reporting activity.
  • Partners with associates and management to develop, review, revise, implement and communicate various HR and organizational wide policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. Responsible partnering with Talent Development to ensuring the annual policy acknowledgement is sent and completed by all Associates and contractors.
  • Responsible for administering the new hire and exit surveys, analyzes and reports on key trends and or actionable feedback to the business and the supporting Human Resource Business Partner.
  • Documents procedures to streamline division processes and ensure compliance. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • May assist with preliminary investigations into associate complaints. Works with Senior Human Resource Business Partners for resolution.
  • Works with HR team on a variety of compensation projects to include maintenance of the job description database, salary survey responses, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs as needed.
  • Assists in the planning and administration of the annual performance review process and assists in compensation market pricing projects.
  • Coordinates the annual Budget process to include managing past and current year data, obtaining future year vendor pricing overseeing etc.
  • Supports Benefits team with Open Enrollment, benefit processing, invoicing, audits, and other benefit program tracking.
  • Assists with efforts associated with workplace flexibility to include verifying, monitoring and distributing Remote Work Agreements and ensuring systems are updated as work arrangements fluctuate.
  • Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality in accordance with the expectations established by your supervisor and WoodmenLife policy.
  • Abides by all company security policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents and traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of demonstrated Human Resources experience, preferably in employee relations and leave administration.
  • Knowledgeable of laws and regulations pertaining to FMLA, ADA and Worker’s Compensation.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated project and process management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills required to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to make appropriate and timely decisions based upon the specific circumstances of the situation and able to implement those decisions throughout the business culture.
  • Ability to be open to new strategies and approaches; able to effectively cope with change and adapt as needed.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations and maintain an effective approach.
  • Able to build effective relationships with internal and/or external customers to ensure expectations are exceeded.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors.
