CMI - Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is an independent organization that works to prevent and resolve conflicts through dialogue and mediation. Founded in 2000 by Nobel Peace Laureate and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari, we have since grown to be a leader in the field of international peacemaking. As of today, around 100 experts work in an international environment with offices in central Helsinki and Brussel. For our office in Helsinki, CMI is now seeking a fixed-term HR Manager to join its Finance and Administration Team.
We are looking for a proactive HR Manager for our Finance and Administration Team. Your main tasks are to support CMI’s managers and employees in daily HR matters in a solution-oriented manner and to participate in the development of our HR policies and practices. You will report to the Head, Finance and Administration.

Your key responsibilities will be:
Support supervisors and teams in HR matters (management support, recruitment, personnel planning and budgeting, salary and benefits, employment relationship, development discussions, occupational well-being and occupational health care)
Life cycle management of employments and consultancies (recruitment, contracts, onboarding, development, exit)
Together with the rest of the team, develop the HR function including related practices, instructions and processes
Administration and development of HR systems and producing HR reports
Internal communications, especially related to HR
HR development projects and related tasks to be agreed separately according to the skills and interest of the selected candidate
What we are looking for:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least five (5) years of experience in relevant HR roles (e.g. HR Manager/Generalist/Coordinator/Specialist) including direct HR support for supervisors
Knowledge of Finnish employment legislation and experience in employment matters as well as recruitment experience.
Experience in working with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent teamwork, organization and prioritization skills
Flexible attitude and ability to work in a changing environments
Active, self-initiated and meticulous way of working and customer-oriented approach
Excellent spoken and written English and Finnish
Commitment to CMI values and principles of neutrality.
As additional assets we consider:
Experience working with payroll matters and an outsourced payroll service provider.
Interest in the field of international conflict resolution and peace mediation, experience of working in a multicultural organization is considered an asset.
Other language skills are considered an asset e.g. French, Arabic etc.
