Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The position serves as a business partner to management on human resource-related issues.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive human resources management experience in the CA market or equivalent is required.
- Direct experience with managing in a Union environment is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the California leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, and other applicable laws.
- Working knowledge of navigating collective bargaining agreements is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of business strategy and operations preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Hospitality and/or entertainment experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues for non-union union-represented employees.
- Manages leaves of absence reasonable accommodations, and workers’ compensation claims.
- Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Identifies and conducts training needs for the team and management.
- Assist with managing the overall acquisition process, which includes, attracting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, follow-ups, and offers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
