Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision from the Human Resources Manager, the Onboarding Specialist is a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with pre-placement screening with balancing new hire experience to support and reinforce our workplace culture and Core Values. This role is the primary point of contact for candidates during pre-placement onboarding and requires strong collaboration and communication with other functional HR, operational areas and candidates. Time management and organizational skills are important to ensure timely communication and that goals are met for a smooth onboarding experience of all involved.

Responsibilities:

The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list, but rather to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) will be required to perform a variety of duties listed, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with recruiters and candidates to communicate and track progress of pre-placement screening activities that need to be completed by candidates.
  • Verify documentation and ensure all necessary pre-placement screenings are completed, and that successful candidates are cleared to start per established processes.
  • Appropriately escalate potential candidate start delays in a timely manner to reduce negative impact to appropriate work units.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for streamlining and enhancing the onboarding process.
  • Support HR projects, and provide training and education on HR onboarding processes, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; undergraduate degree (e.g. Associate’s or Bachelor’s) preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced phone and communication skills; able to effectively develop relationships via the telephone and in-person providing clear and concise information both verbally and written with the focus to serve the needs of HR processes and candidates in a manner that is efficient and productive
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with interdepartmental staff, and others contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; able to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
  • Previous experience working on projects with goals and timelines, customer service providing complex services, or credentialing required.
  • Reliable Transportation and ability to adhere to regular attendance
