Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working as an integral part of the Payroll team within Human Resources, this role is responsible for:

  • Providing high quality payroll service to managers and employees in Australia and New Zealand
  • Accurately performing and cross-checking payroll calculations and processes
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager to ensure all compliance requirements of the payroll function are met.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager to ensure all deadlines of the payroll function are met.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in payroll and related processes

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Administer Human Resources and Payroll functions, including overseeing the transition, implementation, and integration of company employment policies.
  • Support the recruitment process including background checks and onboarding of new starters
  • Support and train team members to ensure a high standard of payroll processing.Maintain and process monthly end to end payroll for Rabobank Australia, Rabobank New Zealand and Achme
  • Calculate salary payments to meet payroll commitment.
  • Prepare, balance & reconcile payroll, PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and other associated payroll generated payment.
  • Complete monthly reporting e.g., Annual Leave entitlements, Leave Liability, Costing and other payroll related reports as directed.
  • Complete annual processes e.g., payment summaries, compensation review (fixed and variable
  • Assist with ongoing review of current payroll, benefits, and information procedures, and make recommendations for enhancements or modification.
  • Ensure timely payment of salaries, taxation, superannuation contributions etc., in accordance with legislative, award and policy requirement.
  • Ensure adherence to policy and procedure.
  • Provide advice to employees on employment conditions etc.
  • Provide support to Payroll Manager as required.

The salary range for this role is $92K (inclusive of super) through to $138K (inclusive of super) dependant on experience.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Payroll experience, including at a senior level in an organisation of similar size and complexity.
  • In depth technical knowledge of Australian payroll, including relevant tax, superannuation, and employment law requirements (Essential).
  • Previous experience of New Zealand payroll requirements (Desirable but not Essential).
  • Previous experience of payroll matters relevant to globally mobile employees, including inbound and outbound expatriates and short-term international assignments (Desirable but not Essential).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages, including intermediate level Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with ADP Payforce Payroll and PeopleSoft HRMS.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and good interpersonal skills.
