Description:

Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1550 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are looking for a highly motivated and ethical HR Recruitment & Compliance Administrator who will undertake the day-to-day recruitment and administration processes within the School’s small but busy Human Resources Department.
Reporting to the HR Recruitment & Compliance Manager, this role is focused upon the recruitment of teaching and support staff, completion of pre-employment checks and liaison with The John Whitgift Foundation’s central HR/Payroll Office. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the recruitment administration process from start to finish and ensure appropriate communication and record-keeping processes are followed to meet current recruitment and safeguarding regulations. Additionally, you will assist the HR Recruitment and Compliance Manager in delivering HR projects and provide a comprehensive HR service to school staff and facilitate relevant administrative processes efficiently and in a timely manner.
The role would be suited to a knowledgeable HR Officer/Administrator with in house recruitment experience and CIPD level 3 qualification, who wants to work in a sector with a strong emphasis on safeguarding. You will have experience of applying knowledge of HR policies, procedures, standards, and legal requirements, to answer related questions. Personal qualities include confidentiality, professionalism, ability to work autonomously, superb attention to detail and able to work well under pressure, whilst prioritising changing deadlines to meet the needs of the school.
The HR Recruitment and Compliance Administrator will work 5 days per week, based at the school. The hours are 8.00 am to 5.00 pm (40 hours per week) with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. There will be an occasional requirement for flexibility with start and finish times to meet the needs of the department or for school events throughout the year.
In return we offer a generous salary and benefits package including a money purchase pension scheme (plus Life Assurance Cover), Employee Discount Club, discounted school fees for the Foundation Schools, membership of a healthcare plan, a range of family-friendly benefits and season ticket loan.
We welcome applications from all sectors of our community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
