Introduction
Are you the one who will ensure/maintain and boost the vitality of Shimano’s workers?
We are looking for a Vitality & OHS Specialist to join our HR team at our European Headquarters in Eindhoven.
In this role you will be responsible for driving the vitality program and ensuring a clear Occupational Health, Wellbeing & Safety (OHS) policy + the follow up for all EU offices.
You make sure Shimano meets the obligations regarding the ARBO law. Be the prevention officer and support management with long term sickness cases and you provide committed HR advice on above mentioned matters.
This role has a prior focus on The Netherlands as 50% of our workforce (440) is based here, but this scope should be expanded to all our offices across EU (13 countries – 440 employees).

The Challenge

  • Proving committed HR advice on occupational health, wellbeing & safety issues (OHS) which includes policy writing.
  • In consultation with management, the vitality team, and suppliers (Human Capital Care, CZ, Corporate Vitality) be the driver of a clear OHS policy and vitality program with a focus on prevention and a healthy work-life balance.
  • Guiding/training management of casework including sickness absence, making recommendations, giving support and advice to managers on the gatekeeper law (NL)
  • Participate in the set-up and conduct of Bystander Trainings
  • Looks after prevention task to be compliant with the ARBO law and acts as connector towards the health and safety teams in the Netherlands (Eindhoven, Nunspeet and Valkenburg). Keep register and report on any accidents/incidents to the HQ in Japan.
  • Looks after timely and correct sickness reports on EU level and conducts analyses.
  • Conduct Periodic meetings with the company doctor & task delegate (Human Capital Care).
  • Issue and follow-up Plan of Approach (POA) based on the last Risk Investigation & Evaluation (RI&E) and prepare for a new RI&E to come in NL.
  • Ensure regular health checks (PMO) and healthy workplace in both office and at home.
  • Conduct analysis and reports on OHS issues and vitality program on EU level.
  • In line with requirements coming via ESG.
  • Coordinating the annual staff engagement survey and follow up program.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelors in human resource management or labor law or similar.
  • Coaching / Vitality training coaching is recognized as an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in occupational health, wellbeing & safety, or similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Dutch, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of MS office.
  • Knowledge of the HRIS system is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work for 32 hrs. / 36 hrs. per week.
  • The role starts with fixed term contract for 2 years.
