Description:

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

Trench Canada, is seeking for dedicated and dynamic HR Summer Students who will work hand in hand with the HR Team on a local basis. This is an in-person role based in Pickering/Scarborough, providing you the opportunity to engage with the HR team in providing HR solutions to support the production workforce and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees. You’ll help the team to implement positive changes in the company’s policies and procedures where necessary.

Your Tasks:

  • Collaborate with the HR team to identify areas for improvement in company policies and procedures, and participate in implementing positive changes.
  • Provide HR support for the production workforce, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts, including administrative support such as creating job posts and sourcing candidates.
  • Help with the implementation of a new onboarding process for employees.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the Trench intranet.
  • Provide support to the HR Business Partners (HRBP) to ensure smooth HR operations.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a college diploma or university degree, ideally with a focus on Human Resources or a related field.
  • Strong interest in gaining practical experience in HR, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Basic understanding of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and labor law compliance.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and a willingness to learn HR analytics.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
