CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant qualification/certificate for the role preferred
- 2 - 3 years prior experience in a similar role
- Experience dealing with unions highly regarded
- Return to work, Workers Compensation experience beneficial
- Able to apply Health Safety and Environment Legislation to business activities
- Strong understanding of behavioral safety
- Ability to coach internal and external stakeholders(especially blue collar) on complying with Workplace Health & Safety Standards
- Strong communication, analytical and relationship management skills required
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
- Exposure to continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing principles would be highly regarded but not essential

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a developing HS&E professional to join our Knauf Manufacturing team based in Port Melbourne, VIC.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, with day to day direction from the Senior HS&E Manager, you will be responsible for providing HS&E guidance and administrative support to the Manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance with weekly and monthly HS&E compliance standards.
It is critical to understand the importance of complying with Workplace Health & Safety standards and follow protocol.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Manufacturing Plant to fulfil the requirements of our behaviour-based Safety and Environment System
- Provide advice and guidance to the Port Melbourne manufacturing plant regarding Health Safety and Environmental matters
- Provide advice and direction to local and operational management within the business, promoting systemic alignment with Corporate and Plant initiatives
- Assist and manage compliance with the Safety and Environment Management System and performance indicators
- Provide insights from statistical data for each business and provide advice on remedial activity, provide monthly activity reports to the Senior HS&E Advisor
- Provide administrative support to the Senior HS&E Manager as required
- Facilitate two-way communication, feedback and interaction between employees and managers
- Under the direction of the Senior HS&E Manager, participate in high level incident investigation and risk assessment activities, review and assist in development of Safe Operating Procedures, contributing to Plant initiatives
- Contribute to the planning and execution of Safety Management System related projects
- Facilitate weekly/monthly HS&E leadership and committee meetings
