Job Description
Responsible for the implementation, administration, interpretation, and enforcement of safety & environmental requirements including plant, Corporate, local, state, and federal regulations. Establish safety & environmental standards based on risk/hazard analysis to meet regulatory requirements and HSE management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001). Review of HSE incidents for root cause and establishment of corrective and preventative actions. Provide technical assistance with various plant staff functions. Coordinate plant safety teams.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Develop/revise HSE related policies/procedures for the plant and drive implementation
  • Develop HSE related communication including training, safety alerts, and production review meetings
  • Interact with state and federal agencies and consultants to ensure compliance with EPA and State specific requirements
  • Assist with environmental compliance and reporting needs for the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Release Inventory Program, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, etc.
  • Conduct hazard assessments of equipment/jobs to ensure they meet all applicable requirements
  • Assist/lead change management tasks and conduct machine release inspections
  • Assist and lead safety and environmental audits of key program areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Bosch Norms
  • Coordinate safety and environmental related communication including training, alerts, and production review meetings
  • Lead/take part in Incident Investigation facilitating root cause analysis and proper corrective and preventative actions
  • Participate in/lead plant emergency response teams
  • Conducts formal reviews of new equipment, equipment modifications, or process changes
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the plant safety teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 1+ years of health, safety, or environmental experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • 1+ years of MS Office experience to include Excel and Word
  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Sciences, Occupational Safety, Environmental, or other related field
  • Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Professional Engineer, or other related certifications
  • Knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
  • HazWhoper, DOT, RCRA certs are preferred
