As we expand our operations we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to join our dynamic team.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
  • Knowledge of local and international HSEQ regulations and best practices.
  • Certification as a Lead Auditor in ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or ISO 9001.

Responsibilities:

BreatheSafe’s current HSEQ is looking to retire soon, and we would like to hire someone that can be shown the ropes of BreatheSafe. This role primary focus will be maintaining and improving the HSEQ system across our business operations in Australia. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our company adheres to the highest standards of health, safety, environmental protection, and quality management.

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable HSE Legislations, regulations, Codes of Practice and standards.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
  • Develop and update company policies and procedures to align with HSEQ requirements.
  • Conduct internal ISO audits and inspections to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
  • Where necessary, this role may be called upon to support our international branches.**
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams across various locations to promote a strong safety culture and proactive risk management strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification to determine potential risks to employees, the environment and property.
  • Implement strategies and control measures to mitigate identified risks and prevent accidents, injuries and environmental accidents.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on HSEQ matters, delivering training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns to enhance employee knowledge and engagement.
  • Incident and near miss investigations to determine root causes.
  • Maintain records of incidents and near misses throughout the business.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate toolbox talks and safety meetings to ensure compliance and understanding throughout the business.
  • Keep up to date with all legislations, regulations and industry best practices and implement any changes with the business.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, third-party auditors, and external partners to facilitate compliance activities and resolve any compliance-related issues effectively.
