DESCRIPTION
Human Factors Specialist / Engineer Position
Position Description:
- Evaluate customer requirements for Human Factors Engineering (HFE) and/or user experience (UX) with the goal of determining compliance and design changes required for compliance
- Support the development of internal design requirements to ensure that the appropriate HFE and UX requirements are included in the design specifications
- Provide HFE consultation during vehicle design and development including the software development of the User Interface (UI)
- Present HFE and UX evaluations at both internal and external technical presentations
- Conduct, as required, HFE and UX analyses to support vehicle and software design and demonstrate contractual compliance
- Plan, conduct and report out on HFE and UX testing, as required, to determine compliance to contract and/or system specification requirements
- Generate, as required, HFE and UX reports that meet the requirements of the project
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics or related discipline with course work in human factors engineering, ergonomics and/or user experience
- Advanced knowledge of human factors engineering, ergonomics and/or user experience
- Demonstrate ability to work and participate within a team environment with minimal supervision
- Superior oral and written communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional certification in human factors / ergonomics (ie: AE, CCPE, BCPE)
- Experience in applying human factors, ergonomics and/or human computer interaction standards in product design
- Proficiency with Human 3-D Modeling Software (ie: JACK), user interface prototyping software (ie: Adobe XD) and MS Office applications
