JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for managing all aspects of the hiring and onboarding process, maintaining positive employee relations, managing our benefits package, and providing support for issue resolution. This position will serve as a resource to GMSS employees by promptly responding to staff questions and concerns and ensuring human resource documentation, information, and policies are kept up-to-date and easily accessible.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum Associates or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of human resources experience
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (UKG preferred but not required) will be a plus.
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Additional HR training will be a plus.
  • HR designation, such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.

Schedule: Monday to Frida

Responsibilities:

  • Administer benefits plan, assist new hires with benefits enrollment, and provide support for employees with any questions regarding the benefits plan (MVP-VT, HSA, FSA, etc.)
  • Manage all aspects of the hiring process, including recruitment, orientation, and onboarding including running GMSS background checks.
  • Administer compensation via GMSS’ HR Information System (HRIS), UKG
  • Liaise with ARIS Solutions to conduct employee onboarding via BambooHR and UKG
  • Provide support to employees and supervisors in various HR-related topics such as leaves, compensation and performance issues.
  • Run annual background checks on all active employees.
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace, including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Gather, analyze and report on HR metrics, such as time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Ensure employees have documented retention and development plan updates at least annually
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
  • Oversee the agency training committee and plan
  • Serve as Relias site administrator and assign, monitor, and audit course completions
