Description:
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for administration of insurance benefits including, but not limited to, enrollments, changes and/or terminations of benefits, COBRA enrollments/terminations, communication and employee inquiries as situations arise.
- Process and/or review and reconcile monthly billings from insurance providers and resolve discrepancies.
- Function as liaison with insurance carriers, conducts annual open enrollment period for medical insurance, FSA, and HSA changes.
- Compile statistical data needed to assist with annual benefits renewal process.
- Coordinate company wellness programs and associated events.
- Assist the Human Resources Manager with short term disability claims and FMLA claims.
- Process semi-monthly payroll including any deduction changes.
- Sending eligible employees 401k enrollment packets.
- Ensure legal compliance with employees and processing tax-related paperwork for payroll.
- Maintain departmental spreadsheets for reporting and analytical needs.
- Serves as back-up to the Talent Acquisition Specialist by recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified job applicants for open positions.
- Conducts New Hire Orientation.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and benefits.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Human Resource Manager, Chief Risk Officer, President, or Board of Directors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- The individual should have 2+ years of experience in benefits administration and payroll.
- Bachelor’s degree in related HR field or equivalent related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires the following physical activities within varying environmental conditions:
- Occasionally remaining in a stationary position which may be standing or sitting for a prolonged period.
- Occasional travel or moving from one office location to another or from one department to another at the headquarters building.
- Occasional lifting, moving, or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds.
- Constant communication with others through various channels including verbal, email, and chat of which the last two may require consistent use of a keyboard and mouse or another electronic device.
- Work will be in a commercially reasonable temperature-controlled environment.
- Occasional temporary exterior site review which could be in outdoor elements of wind, rain, or snow.
