JOB SUMMARY:

This position coordinates and maintains the Schaumburg Institute of Professional Development (SIPD) training program including content creation and administration. This position supports diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and initiatives through training, events, and overall organizational development. Coordinates the succession planning program to identify and recommend employees for organizational opportunities and professional growth. This position also assists in talent acquisition efforts and benefits-related projects. Exercises discretion and judgment on human resources administrative procedures and answers inquiries as appropriate.
This team member will need to effectively communicate to a full range of people, prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities with accuracy, problem solve efficiently, and be able to shift gears comfortably. We are looking for someone capable of demonstrating self-awareness and be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Proficient in Spanish is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, human resource management, industrial psychology, business, risk or safety management, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of three years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  3. Proficient with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates, maintains, and internally promotes the SIPD training program and learning management system. Develops organizational communications and training content.
  2. Assists in diversity efforts. Serves as the Vocalize Our International Community Effectively (VOICE) and Understanding our Neighbors Individuality Through Education (UNITE) Committees liaison/chairperson. Researches, recommends, and coordinates cultural education programs that will impact the overall culture and diversity of the village.
  3. Responsible for confidential information and document management.
  4. Processes a variety of employee-related requests including but not limited to unemployment, leave, tuition reimbursement, and outside employment.
  5. Provides project and administrative support as needed to advance the goals of the department.
  6. Conducts long and short-range research studies to assist management decision-making and develops recommendations regarding new and/or modified programs.
  7. Coordinates the succession planning program. Facilitates leadership coaching, career development planning, and leadership training.
  8. Facilitates the entire talent acquisition process for assigned positions with the hiring managers.
  9. Assists with queries and administrative tasks related to the benefits programs including but not limited to healthcare, pensions, leaves, benefits system administration, reporting benefit elections to payroll, and any other benefits-related activities as assigned.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
