SUMMARY:

As the HR & Safety Administrator, your key role is to coordinate with plant management to provide full cycle recruitment including onboarding and offboarding activities. You will also be responsible for providing general human resources and safety administrative support.
This is an on-site position which reports to the on-site HR/EH&S Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management
  • 2+ years recruitment/HR experience preferred
  • Must have experience using an HRIS platform, Outlook and all MS Office tools
  • Safety certification an asset
  • Working towards CHRP designation
  • Experience as a safety admin/coordinator or part of a JOHS committee an asset
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing setting an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including effective listening skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle large volumes of recruitment

Responsibilities:

  • Source and attract candidates by using job posting databases, social media, etc. to manage full cycle recruitment .
  • Organize, participate in recruitment initiatives such as job fairs, advertising, networking, etc.
  • Answering candidates’ questions and ensure proper and timely follow-up with candidates and hiring team
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
  • Handle all administrative tasks across all HR functions including new hire orientation, transfers and departures, and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and referral programs, etc.
  • Work with the Manager, People & Culture and hiring managers to create and maintain job descriptions
  • Maintaining current HR files and employee data using the HRIS platform
  • Assisting the Manager, People & Culture with day-to-day operations of the HR and safety functions and duties by providing human resources and safety administrative support
  • Coordinate and track all employee training related to Human Resources and updated/new company policies or procedures
  • Track all safety incidences, accidents etc and participate in JHSC meetings as secretary and track as well as follow up on all action items
  • Participate in social committee and assist with the planning of company events
  • Other duties as assigned
