Job Title: Human Resources Advisor
Location: Calgary

Reports to: Director of Operations
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours per Week: 37.5
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, Human Resources Advisor (OHS) will support the maintenance and development of our internal occupational health and safety program, working to improve the occupational health and safety of workers across all our locations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge/experience with Occupational Health and Safety regulations is considered an asset
- Progressive Human Resources experience of 3 years with ability to manage a busy workload
- Must be able to relate well with people from diverse backgrounds
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills including public speaking/presenting skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Proficient computer skills and thorough understanding of the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and prioritize

Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Director of operations with the maintenance of our health and safety program
- Ensuring administrative processes and documentation is compliant with health and safety legislation and regulations
- Helping foster a positive occupational health and safety culture within the organization
- Assisting with developing and implementing new health and safety initiatives
- Assisting with safety policy and procedure development, reviews and updates as needed
- Assisting with analyzing safety statistics and trends to identify gaps, produce reports and recommendations for the development and implementation of corrective actions
- Coordinating workplace safety training, education, and communication to ensure staff are aware of training requirements
- Assisting with workplace investigations of safety concerns, incidents, and injuries
- Coordinate the completion of workplace inspections to ensure all safety hazards are addressed
- Assisting with preparing health and safety presentations/meetings
- Conducting research and gathering information
- Working with leaders to complete formal site-specific hazard assessments for each site
- Working with leaders to complete site-specific Emergency Response Procedures for each site
- Ensuring Emergency Response drills are being conducted as required
- Other duties as assigned
