What you’ll do:

As a Human Resources Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client’s organisation. You will be responsible for providing expert HR advice to Hospital & Specialist Services (HSS), while also contributing to strategic planning and operational management. Your role will involve close collaboration with various teams within the organisation to implement people-related projects, policies, and processes effectively. You will also have the opportunity to coach managers and staff, building HR capability across the organisation. Furthermore, you will contribute to organisational projects, ensuring that your services align with the overall direction set for human resources services across the district. Lastly, you will develop constructive relationships with various stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Provide HR advice and service for HSS, taking an interest in a particular field of expertise where required
  • Contribute to strategic and operational management as well as being the HR advisor for the directorate or area
  • Work closely with other Human Resources, People and Capability and Corporate Service staff to facilitate and lead effective implementation of people related projects, policies and processes
  • Coach and advise managers and staff in a way that builds HR capability across the organisation
  • Contribute to P&C and organisational projects, ensuring services, practice and advice provided is accurate, high quality and aligned with the direction set for human resources services across the district
  • Develop constructive strategic relationships with a range of groups and individuals both internal and external

You will have experience dealing with employment relations matters, including conducting and guiding employment investigations and disciplinary processes. Your strong performance management skills, along with your knowledge of remuneration and benefits, will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your proven ability to contribute to programmes of work and change in complex environments will set you apart. An understanding of the environment within which Te Whatu Ora operates would be an advantage. Above all, your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively will be key to your success in this role.
