JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs general Human Resources duties, greets visitors, and operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of three (3) years Human Resources related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient typing and computer skills including knowledge of internet software, Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Microsoft Project, Word Processing software (MS Word), PowerPoint, Visio, and Email software (Microsoft 365).

Responsibilities:

  • Supports HR Manager with recruiting efforts such as, reviewing resumes, arranging interviews for potential employees, checking applicant references, maintaining employee records, training records and orientation materials.
  • Posts open job positions within the plant on recruiting job boards.
  • Assists with new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Assists in the administration of benefits programs such as life, medical, dental and disability insurance, FMLA or other leaves of absences.
  • Assists in administering employee appreciation programs.
  • Conducts background checks for incoming candidates.
  • Completes previous employment verification requests.
  • Distributes and maintains company boot voucher program.
  • Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
  • Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
  • Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.
  • Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary.
  • Updates Phone List as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining safety materials such as safety training schedule and related training documents.
  • Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
