Job Description:
Torch Technologies is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to perform a wide variety of administrative and clerical support duties in the HR Department areas of compensation, benefits, and training. This position resides on-site in the Corporate Human Resources Department in Huntsville, AL with full-time hours and benefits.

Primary position responsibilities include:

  • Data entry of approved personnel changes (pay, manager, location, etc.) into the Deltek CostPoint system adhering to strict payroll data entry timelines and guidelines.
  • Respond timely to verifications of employment electronically, written, or telephonically as needed and file in the appropriate personnel file.
  • File completed personnel actions in electronic document storage system using appropriate nomenclature and filing procedures.
  • Assist the Benefits Department with the exit process, by tracking terminations, preparing exit packages, and collection of equipment/badges, etc.
  • May conduct exit meetings independently after sufficient training.
  • Assist with department reporting (turnover, headcount reports, data audits, etc.)
  • Assist with training system file management and records updates.
  • Assist with maintenance of employee records and documentation.
  • Backup to other HR Assistant as needed.

Additional assignments/projects include:

  • Convert employee benefit files to electronic document storage and maintain employee benefit files.
  • Assist with conversion of employee personnel files to electronic document storage.
  • Assist with HR events (wellness, open enrollment, training, etc.) and programs as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

This position is perfect for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic who is comfortable completing repetitive tasks, but agile enough to transition to new tasks as the need arises. Due to the importance of the information, this individual must produce high quality work with accuracy and attention to detail, be able to operate under tight deadlines, and be comfortable with long hours at the computer.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related administrative office experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, collaborative and communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain a strict, high level of confidentiality due to access of personal identifiable information (PII).
  • Must be able to perform a high volume of data entry in connection with job duties.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, orally and in writing, with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deltek CostPoint, Deltek Talent Management and MS SharePoint experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Government Contracting experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Have or currently pursuing degree in HR or HR certification.
