Description:

  • One (1) ongoing role in the Human Resources Branch, People, Culture and Capability Division
  • Salary $152,773 plus 11% superannuation – VPS Grade 6.2
  • Based in Melbourne CBD or Ballarat, with hybrid working arrangements
  • Regular travel between both sites

    The opportunity
    The Human Resources Branch Manager is responsible for driving the strategic and operational aspects of our HR function and will be part of the Senior Management Team. You will lead the full spectrum of HR activities, ensuring alignment with the People Culture & Capability strategic plan and the business objectives and values.

Reporting to the Executive Director People Culture and Capability, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-level expertise in employee case management. You will resolve complex employee relations matters and exercise sound judgment in assembling subject matter experts when necessary.
  • Together with the HR team, providing guidance, advice to managers and staff in a broad range of HR and organisational development areas, including people management, culture and change management.
  • Compiling and analysing employment data to guide HR trends.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of the Diversity & Inclusion Programs.

Who we are looking for To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in leading the delivery of the full range of HR services and advice including demonstrated IR experience and prior experience working within a unionised environment.
  • An understanding of the contemporary challenges affecting the workplace and demonstrated experience in applying proactive organisation wide or business unit specific solutions to complex and emerging issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and demonstrated experience in preparing concise and accurate reports and executive papers; and giving presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources management or related disciplines, and/or significant experience in a similar role.
