KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Contribute to the delivery of human resources initiatives aligning with the business strategic plan.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including operations, employees, parent groups (and their representatives) as well as client representatives.
  • Assist with coaching leaders to manage and take accountability for people decisions effectively and consistently, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Provide support and advice across all business areas to ensure the understanding of all relevant employment industrial instruments and employee entitlements.
  • Assist in the review of HR and related policies and procedures.
  • Educate and coach managers and employees on HR policies and procedures ensuring HR compliance with legislation.
  • Provide support and coaching to key stakeholders regarding employee relations and performance management.
  • Assist with the management and investigation of disciplinary matters, employee issues or grievances.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of industrial instruments.
  • Contribute to HR reporting and data analytics.
  • Facilitate the roll-out of HR related training and workshops as required.
  • Engage in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, researching solutions, and implementing changes.
  • Participate in regular site visits.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operational HR role, preferably within the mining or resources sector
  • Experience in negotiating EA’s
  • Working knowledge of the COAL industry
  • High level of communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels
  • Ability to educate and coach various levels of the organisation regarding employment legislation and other legislative observations.
  • Highly developed planning and organisation skills
  • Good level of knowledge and understanding of employment and industrial relations, legislation, and regulations
  • Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Working towards, or degree in Human Resources Management/Industrial Relations or demonstrated experience desirable.

You will focus on building people capability, implementing developmental strategies, and managing employee-related matters.
