Responsibilities:
- Provide HR leadership for multiple facilities across Canada.
- Responsible for creating, managing, and executing various projects to standardize and strengthen HR practices across the organization.
- Works in conjunction with managers and employees to advance work relationships, build morale and engagement, and increase productivity and employee retention.
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Collaborates with the Legal department as needed/required.
- Lead employee meetings and training on new employee orientation, employee benefits, and performance management. Identify training needs and coaching opportunities for managers and employees. Evaluate and monitor the success of training and coaching by ensuring objectives and goals are achieved.
- Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, time and attendance, and HR policies and procedures.
- Analyze trends and metrics to develop strategies, solutions, programs, and policies within HR.
- Contribute to the development and advancement of HR tools and processes (e.g., human capital management, time & attendance).
- Collaborates with HR COEs and across all levels of the organization to ensure consistent HR operations.
- Drive collaborative labour relations at the site level by working with both union representatives and management.
- Actively participate in the local grievance process for each of the unionized facilities.
- Manage and resolve employee relations matters. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Consult with Senior Director – Human Resources (North America) when necessary.
- 40-50% travel required.
- Perform other related duties as required
