Description:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 3 years in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Post-secondary education, with a concentration in Human Resources or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience and proficiency in working with various technologies (e.g., Microsoft applications, applicant tracking, HR systems, learning management systems, etc.).
  • Experience in providing services to various stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
  • Certified Human Resources designation, such as CHRP or CHRL or working toward the designation.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on professionalism and timely service.Ability to navigate sensitive matters in a professional and confidential way.Ability to develop and sustain strong relationships and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.Ability work effectively and collaborate with the team to implement solutions that move the organization forward.Knowledge of recruitment and selection including behavioral interviewing techniques.Ability to work independently, allocate time effectively, work under pressure, prioritize workload and work at a highly detailed level.Ability to demonstrate a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change.Advanced computer skills with proficiency in a range of technology preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, HRIS/HCMS, applicant tracking and learning management systems)Fluently bilingual in both English and French (written and verbal).

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with leaders at all levels in business relative to a range of HR related matters, providing strategic guidance and expertise on people and processes.
  • Builds strong relationships with leaders and proactively seeks to understand the business challenges and objectives of their assigned client groups in order to drive a proactive approach.
  • Provides expertise and guidance to support client groups in areas such as employee relations, legal and procedural compliance, workplace policies, and problem prevention.
  • Analyzes talent trends and issues in client groups and makes recommendations for continuous improvement relative to talent acquisition, onboarding and employee retention.
  • Works closely with the Manager, Talent Acquisition and Development and Talent Specialist to support the recruitment process and effectively identify and attract top talent.
  • Provides coaching and performance management guidance to leaders in order to develop and advance performance culture (e.g., coaching, career development, performance plans)
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues, while managing risks and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Works with managers to ensure a best in class on-boarding experience for new employees.
  • Provides support to manager to effectively manage the people side of change to support successful business outcomes.
  • Partners with the business and the HR Operations and OE team in the development and execution of plans and programs to support organizational effectiveness strategies.
  • Champions initiatives to drive best culture practices.
