Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and seasoned HR Business Partner to join our Operations HR team, working collaboratively with your HR colleagues in Mississauga. In this role, you will provide HR leadership to all team members at our Mississauga Main Plant and Distribution Centre by offering a full suite of HR consultation services that include strategic planning, employee relations, talent and change management, and total rewards best practices. You will bring a partnership and solution orientated approach to everything that you do and have a knack for balancing employee needs with business objectives.
We are looking for someone with experience supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment who is passionate about fostering positive employee relations, implementing HR strategies, and contributing to the success of a fast-paced and thriving organization. You have the desire to be an employee champion, coach, and change agent to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention across all our facilities in Mississauga.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Strategic Partnership: Partner with the Plant Leadership Team to provide innovative HR solutions that are aligned with our business objectives. Collaborate with the HR Center of Excellence to implement business and HR strategies.
  • Employee Relations: Guide and coach management on employee relations issues in compliance with company policies. Investigate and resolve complaints and policy non-compliance, fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Staffing and Recruitment: Manage full-cycle recruitment from sourcing to on-boarding for all teams at our Main Plant and Distribution Centre.
  • Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Oversee compliance with legislative requirements, resolving issues related to litigation, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Implement controls to safeguard employees and champion health and safety initiatives.
  • HR Initiatives/Projects: Assist with training and development initiatives at all levels for compliance and growth. Support initiatives related to Environment, Health & Safety, corporate and shared services programs, and process improvements.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • At least 5 years of expertise in the areas of employee relations and recruitment.
  • Sound experience recommending solutions for employment matters, managing conflict, performance coaching and conducting internal complaint investigations is required.
  • Must have strong knowledge of federal and provincial employment related laws and regulations within multi-location environment.
  • Demonstrated experience as an employee champion, management coach and change agent.
  • Effective and deliberate communication capabilities with ability to build strong client relationships, provide excellent customer service, problem solve and clearly present complex information.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Proficient with technology and systems such as applicant tracking systems, Internet-based sourcing tools, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Suite of products.
